Test pickup selection before going live

A short run through your own shop, from cart to order, that catches the mistakes merchants usually find on a real order.

The Setup guide on the dashboard ends with Test in the storefront. Nothing is checked for you, so make one real run through your own shop. It takes a few minutes and it is the only way to see the whole chain.

Step 1: Add a product and open the cart

Add any shippable product to the cart. Next to the checkout button you should see the pickup panel: InPost locker with a Choose point button. If it is not there, the theme app embed is probably off.

Step 2: Pick a point

Press Choose point. In the modal Choose delivery, press the carrier tile. You land on Choose a pickup point, a map with a searchable list. Pick a point and go to the checkout.

Step 3: Check the rate at checkout

Your pickup rate should now carry the code of the point you chose and sit at the top of the delivery options. Finish the order.

Step 4: Open the order in Shopify

The order should carry the tag InPost pickup selected (or the ORLEN Paczka equivalent), and the Shipment card in the order sidebar should report it as ready for a label rather than missing a point.

Step 5: Run it once more without picking a point

Repeat the run, but press Other delivery in the modal. At checkout still choose your pickup rate, otherwise the Thank you page will not offer a point. Complete the order and check that the Thank you page asks the customer to choose one.

What to do next

  • Generate a label on the test order, see Print a label for a single order, then cancel or archive it.

  • Repeat the cart step on a phone. The cart drawer behaves differently from a cart page on some themes.

  • When the run works end to end, press Everything works on the last step of the Setup guide.

Stuck on any of this? Open the chat in the bottom right corner of the app and we will help you set it up.
